Private Strasser distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Machine Gun Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Mezy, France, 15 July 1918, in twice bringing in the wounded under shell and sniper fire.

While serving with Machine-Gun Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Strasser made two successful trips across a railroad near Mezy, France, under heavy shell fire in recovering wounded, on 15 July 1918.
