While serving with Company B, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Corporal Snee displayed great coolness and devotion near Les Franquettes Farm on 23 July 1918, when he several times carried water to his wounded company commander and delivered messages to the second in command over an open field swept by heavy machinegun fire.
