No. 43, W.D., 1918), Cook Alexander Rose (ASN: 2256942), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Cook Rose distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company B, 361st Infantry Regiment, 91st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Gesnes, France, 29 September – 3 October 1918, in cooking for an entire battalion during heavy fire.
