By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Walter Przyjalgowski (Pryjalgowski) (ASN: 542860), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company L, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during the period 30 September to 28 October 1918, at which time his company was in the front line, Sergeant Przyjalgowski constantly remained with his company, having command of the same during the greater part of the period, while his company was without officers or other non-commissioned officers. The quality of his work and leadership was of the highest type. His action and bearing was ever a source of inspiration to his men.
