No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private George Petruschka (ASN: 105912), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private Petruschka distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company D, 2d Machine-Gun Battalion, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Villers-Tournelle, France, 4 May 1918, in remaining at his post, although suffering from the effects of gas.
