Moore (ASN: 1316790), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Moore distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company L, 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action in the Ypres Sector, facing Vermozeele, 31 August 1918, in operating his gun with one hand and rendering first aid with the other to a fallen comrade until wounded.
