Griffith (ASN: 1409523), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Wagoner Griffith distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Ambulance Company No. 17, 5th Sanitary Train, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Nantillois, France, 12 October 1918, in evacuating the wounded under artillery fire.
