Hamilton (ASN: 154906), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Hamilton distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company B, 1st U.S. Engineers, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Hill 269, Bois de Moncy, northeast of Exermont, France, 9 – 11 October 1918, in volunteering to act as guide along the front line during a heavy bombardment.
