Gramley (ASN: 1250719), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Gramley distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Battery D, 107th Field Artillery, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Apremont, France, on 5 October 1918, in voluntarily going over a shell-swept area to repair the telephone line.
