Edmunds (ASN: 1905457), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Edmunds distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the Medial Department, 327th Infantry Regiment, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near La Forge Farm, France, 7 October 1918, in rendering first aid to the wounded under terrific shell and machine gun fire.
