By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Raymond Corbett (ASN: 541730), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Company F, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, on 15, 16, and 17 July 1918, at Fossoy, France, by his untiring and unselfish devotion to his work and by repeatedly risking his life under shell fire, Corporal Corbett was able to organize and maintain, unbroken, a liaison system by runners, between seventeen different organizations, hastily sent to positions for the defense of the right flank of the 7th Infantry Regiment attacked by the enemy.
