Brown (ASN: 705653), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal Brown distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with the 10th Field Service Battalion, attached to the 56th Infantry Regiment, 7th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Vieville-en-Haye, France, 9 November 1918, while a member of a reconnoitering patrol.
