No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Joseph Brown (ASN: 1783786), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant Brown distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company A, 3112th Machine-Gun Battalion, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Molleville Farm, France, 9 – 10 November 1918, in bringing his company forward under heavy shell and gas fire.
