No. 43, W.D., 1918), Private First Class Curtis Bridges (ASN: 2225350), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Private First Class Bridges distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Machine Gun Company, 138th Infantry Regiment, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Vauquois Hill, France, 29 September 1918, in carrying wounded comrades to a place of safety under terrific machine gun fire.
