Bernard Lentz graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1905. As a U.S. Army Colonel commanding the Fort Slocum Provisional Training Center in New York in 1944, he standardized the use of cadence calls in the military and is considered the father of our cadence system.
