Headquarters, 37th Infantry Division, General Orders No. 56 (March 19, 1945)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Robert Lebron (ASN: 32881598), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company I, 3d Battalion, 129th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy at Luzon, Philippine Islands, on 28 January 1945. During an attack on enemy strongpoints at Fort Stotsenberg, Private First Class Lebron left the comparative safety of his own position to aid a wounded companion. Twice intense enemy fire forced him to delay and each time he resumed his advance, crawling forward until he was able to grasp the wounded man, drag him to the safety of a shallow ditch and there administer first aid. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Private First Class Lebron, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
