    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Hector B. Lee (ASN: 34851978), United States Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with the 358th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division in action on 16 November 1944 in the vicinity of Distroff, France. During a heavy enemy counterattack, the personnel of Company **, 358th Infantry Regiment, were subjected to directfire from enemy half-tracks. Private First Class Lee, a Truck Driver, at risk of his life, subjected himself to heavy enemy fire of various calibers and disabled the enemy vehicles with accurate bazooka fire. His intrepid and aggressive action averted the probability of death or capture of 16 men and materially aided in the capture of six enemy soldiers. His gallantry was in accordance with high military traditions.
