The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Generalissimo Kai-Shek Chiang, Chinese Armed Forces, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services tin a duty of great responsibility as Commander in Chief of the Military Forces of the Republic of China, from May 1943 to September 1945.
