Reynolds (ASN: 39385414), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company C, 70th Tank Battalion (L), 9th Infantry Division, in action on 9 November 1942, about six miles southwest of Port Lyautey, French Morocco. Sergeant Newman while under fire from enemy machine guns and at the risk of his life assisted in removing and carrying wounded comrades from their disabled tank to the nearest first aid station.
