The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Staff Sergeant Anthony C. Repetti (ASN: 32057589), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, in actin against the enemy in the El Guettar sector, Tunisia. Staff Sergeant Repetti, Mess Sergeant, travelled over a road covered with mortar fire to take food and water to the men of his company. Sergeant Repetti stayed with the company during the evening and as it went forward to attack again, on his own initiative, went up into the hills to destroy a sniper hidden there who was harassing our men from the rear. He contacted the sniper and while uncertain whether a direct his was made, the company ceased being fired upon from that direction. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
