The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private Alfred Kadrmas (ASN: 37283991), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 9th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in on ** March 1943, in the **** sector, Tunisia. Private Kadrmas volunteered to assist Aid Men in evacuating injured comrades from an area which was held by the enemy. By this act, Private Kadrmas and the Aid Men saved the lives of several men. Private Kadrmas performed his duty in a gallant manner and without regard for his personal safety. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
