The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Air Corps) Donald L. Bruner, U.S. Army Air Corps, for extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight. By this vision, initiative, courage, and perseverance, Capitan Bruner rendered exceptionally valuable services to the government of the United States by developing and perfecting night-flying equipment, thus making it possible for military and commercial airplanes to traverse the length and breadth of the United States during the hours of darkness.
