The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Captain (Infantry) Donald H. Fogg (ASN: 0-280735), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in North Africa, during the period from January to April 1943. Captain Fogg’s brilliant leadership and fearless tactics under heavy enemy fire during an assault upon an enemy strongpoint resulted in numerous casualties to the enemy and the taking of several prisoners. His bold actions enabled the successful completion of his company’s difficult mission.
