(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Corporal Clide (Clyde) Caudill (ASN: 13017452), United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with the 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Tunisia on 28 March 1943. Under heavy enemy shell fire, with total disregard for his personal safety, Corporal Caudill attempted to take ammunition through heavy enemy machine gun, mortar, and artillery fire, to his company in the forward area when he was hit and killed by an enemy shell.
