Citation Needed – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes Pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Captain (Infantry) Isadore M. Scott, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 36th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 9 September 1943. Captain Scott distinguished himself by saving the men in a disabled landing craft in the invasion of Salerno. Enemy fire was so intense that the other U.S. boats headed back to sea. Soldiers on his craft found shelter in the bottom of the boat while he stood up and waved his arm to attract the attention of a British craft. He then assisted in loading his men onto the craft, directed the landing under fire of artillery, mortars and machine guns, and led his party two miles to join his regiment.
