The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Technical Sergeant Henry R. DeLuga (ASN: 35067852), United States Army, for gallantry in action and disregard for personal safety while serving with Company I, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, in action on 9 February 1945, during the operations at Ruhr Dams, Germany. Technical Sergeant DeLuga’s gallant actions and selfless devotion to duty, without regard for his own safety, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 9th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
