William Jones was taken a Prisoner of War during fighting in Korea on August 1, 1950. After enduring the Death March to Puyongyan, North Korea, he escaped with four comrades on October 20, 1950. After returing home he was assigned as a Military Policeman in California, where he died in an automobile crash on May 20, 1951.
