The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” to Private First Class Seferino Rodriguez (ASN: RA-19243702), United States Army, for heroic achievement during ground operations against a hostile force as a member of Company F, 2d Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division, in action against an armed enemy in Korea. On 22 May 1951, near Kudunchi, Korea, in an attack on Hill 460 by Company F, 2d Battalion, a machine gunner was wounded in the action and fell down the forward slope of the hill. Private Rodriguez, heedless of the enemy fire sweeping the area, made his way down the precipitous slope and across the treacherous rugged terrain to the wounded man. After administering first aid, he carried the stricken soldier to a position of safety. The heroism and bravery exhibited by Private Rodriguez reflects great credit upon himself and the military service.
