    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to First Sergeant David A. Scott, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States in various positions of great responsibility during the period 1 February 1998 to 31 January 2008, culminating as First Sergeant, United States Army Medical Activity, Fort Stewart, Georgia. First Sergeant Scott’s service has been characterized by personal and professional commitment to leadership, excellence, and selfless dedication. He has met every challenge with vigor, accomplished all objectives, and mentored the Army’s finest civilians, soldiers, and future leaders. His uncompromising standards for excellence and dedication to soldiers significantly contributed to his success as a well respected leader. His exemplary performance of duty was in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Army Medical Command, and the United States Army.
