The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Sergeant [then Corporal] Stanley W. Zybczynski (ASN: 32034355), United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action in Normandy, France, on 6 August 1944. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Sergeant Zybczynski reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
