Engers (ASN: 33130937), United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action in Normandy, France, on 6 August 1944. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Technician Fifth Grade Engers reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
