The Secretary of the Army of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal to Specialist Philip A. Dobner, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious service while serving as a M-203 Gunner during the period 13 December 1989 through 13 December 1991. Specialist Dobner’s selfless dedication to mission accomplishment and willingness to server were instrumental in the success of this unit’s many deployments and training exercises. His extreme professionalism and soldierly service are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and the United States Army.
