Headquarters, 1st Infantry Division, General Orders No. 65 (November 26, 1943)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Theodore F. Nevidomsky (ASN: 32284906), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 1st Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Sicily during the period from July through October 1943. Despite heavy enemy machine gun fire and hand grenades, Private Nevidomsky voluntarily proceeded across open terrain and delivered a message of vital importance to his company commander. His courageous action in delivering this message, a decisive factor in the capture of an enemy town, won him the admiration of his entire organization. Private First Class Nevidomsky’s gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
