The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Sergeant Marvin B. Ferguson, United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States IN England, on 21 March 1944. Sergeant Ferguson sought out an armed soldier whom he knew to be mentally depressed and in a dangerous frame of mind. With disregard for his own safety, he approached the soldier and disarmed him forcibly. By so doing he averted possible death or injury to other personnel of his organization.
