The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Corporal Floyd A. Ingram (ASN: 12005160), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company E, 2d Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in North Africa, during World War II. When forward units were in dire need of food and ammunition during a determined enemy assault, Corporal Ingram voluntarily faced intense artillery and machine gun fire to supply these units. His courageous action was in keeping with the highest traditions of the Military Service.
