    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander (MC) Ernest Marion Wade (NSN: 0-70615), United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star (Army Award) for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving as a Medical Officer attached to the Second Battalion, FOURTH Marine Regiment, in action at Corregidor during the defense of the Philippine Islands, on 28 April 1942. Lieutenant Commander Wade’s gallant actions and selfless devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service.
