(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Shipfitter First Class Lynn Kessinger Robertson, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving on board a United States Navy warship in action against Japanese forces during World War II. Shipfitter First Class Robertson risked his life to extinguish a fire aboard his vessel which seriously threatened the safety of the ship and the personnel on board. His gallant actions and selfless devotion to duty, without regard for his own safety, were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
