(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Hospitalman Arthur Howard Garnett (NSN: 6980059), United States Navy, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. Hospitalman Garnett distinguished himself by intrepid actions on 18 October 1965 while serving as a Corpsman attached to Company A, First Battalion, First Marines, FIRST Marine Division. His unquestionable valor in close combat is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
