    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander Benjamin F. Edwards, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action while participating in operations against the enemy off Okinawa Jima on 27 March 1945, as Damage Control Officer of the U.S.S. BILOXI (CL-80). His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
