The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Garry J. Skaret, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Aircraft commander over hostile territory on 2 March 1969. On that date, Captain Skaret destroyed a supply storage area that had been captured by hostile forces in a highly defended area of Southeast Asia. Through precise ordnance delivery, under intense ground fire, Captain Skaret denied hostile forces use of their badly needed supplies. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Skaret reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
