The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Donald Bernard Kinser (AFSN: FR-3081007), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Navigator over Southeast Asia, on 8 March 1971. On that date, Major Kinser working in close support of ground troops, destroyed hostile gun positions and started several secondary explosions and fires in a heavily defended environment. Major Kinser’s precision work and aggressive effort helped ground operations and severely hampered insurgent attacks on friendly positions. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Kinser reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
