(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Charles H. Pozarnsky, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action while serving with the 9th Infantry Division during World War II. When enemy fire pinned down members of his company while they were taking a well-defended bridge in central Germany, he charged ahead firing his rifle and throwing grenades, and took the bridge. About 25 enemy soldiers were killed in the action.
