The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Technician Fourth Grade William F. Seeber (ASN: 12171265), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company B, 65th Armored Infantry Battalion, 20th Armored Division, in action against the enemy on 29 April 1945, at Lohhof, Germany. Technician Fourth Grade Seeber left the comparative safety of his half-track to pick up wounded men in a 1/4 ton truck whose driver had been wounded. Unver very heavy small arms fire he made three trips back to the rear first aid station regardless of great personal danger. The courage, initiative and selfless devotion to duty of Technician Fourth Grade Seeber reflect great credit upon himself and uphold the highest traditions of the Military Service of the United States.
