The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Felix J. Milano (ASN: 32994587), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 2d Battalion, 254th Infantry Regiment, 63d Infantry Division, in action on 27 April 1945, in the vicinity of Leipheim, Germany. During an enemy counterattack upon the town, Private First Class Milano, automatic rifleman, observed three enemy manning a machine gun. Crawling forward under the heavy enemy fire he made his way toward the enemy position. Hurling a grenade, he waited until it exploded, and rushing the position while firing from the hip, killed the entire enemy crew. Then upon hearing more enemy approaching, he turned the captured gun upon them, killing seven and wounding several and completely repulsing the enemy threat. The gallantry and devotion to duty displayed by Private First Class Milano reflect the highest credit upon himself and upon the Armed Forces of the United States.
