Marshall (ASN: 31466626), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 2d Battalion, 253d Infantry Regiment, 63d Infantry Division, in action on 6 April 1945, in the vicinity of Herbolzheim, Germany. Voluntarily, Private First Class Marshall crossed three hundred yards of open ground under heavy small arms, machine gun and tank fire to convey orders to withdraw to an anti-tank gun crew.
