The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, 20 July 1942, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Sergeant Major Thomas E. Croom, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious service in positions of increasing importance and responsibility from September 1983 to November 1993. His outstanding leadership and superb technical competence were instrumental in the implementation of the Logistic Assistance Program. He performed each assignment with energy and enthusiasm and consistently demonstrated sound reasoning and judgment. Sergeant Major Croom’s achievements, dedication and exemplary performance of duty, which culminate a distinguished military career of 25 years, are in keeping with the finest tradition of the service and reflect great credit upon himself, the U. S. Army Materiel Command and the U.S. Army.
