Second Lieutenant Donald A. Carlson (MCSN: 0-29427), United States Marine Corps, was captured by the Japanese after his F4U Corsair aircraft was shot down in the Pacific Theater of Operations, and was held as a Prisoner of War until returned to U.S. Military control at the end of the war.
