The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Staff Sergeant Albert William Foster, III, United States Air Force, for meritorious service as Assistant Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Pararescue/Recovery Section and Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Unit Operations Scheduling Section, 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, Udorn Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand, while engaged in ground operations against an opposing armed force from 14 January 1968 to 14 November 1968. During this period, Sergeant Foster’s meticulous attention to detail, coupled with his administrative and planning talents were responsible for the continued excellence of these important squadron functions. The exemplary leadership, personal endeavor, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Foster in these responsible positions reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
