The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star to Staff Sergeant Philip Cohen (ASN: 32181105), United States Army, for heroic achievement while serving with Company C, 69th Tank Battalion, , 6th Armored Division, in action against the enemy in during military operations in the vicinity of Brest, France, on 9 August 1944. Staff Sergeant Cohen, with complete disregard for his own safety, braved a heavy concentration of artillery fire to treat and evacuate two wounded men.
