(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Brigadier General Amaro Soares Bittencourt, Brazilian Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as chief of the Brazilian military mission to the United States that is the military attaché at the Brazilian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
